
Dr. Leigh Dalton, Esq.
Dr. Leigh Dalton has focused her career on public education, initially working with students, parents, and community members of a Baltimore City school, to build leadership skills and connect resources to areas of need. Applying her legal background to this asset-building landscape, Dr. Dalton led the York County Truancy Prevention Initiative in aligning policies and best practices to address the socioeconomic concerns associated with truancy. She founded the York County Youth Court Alliance, a student-led sentencing court to address truancy. Dr. Dalton practiced school law in South Central Pennsylvania, focusing predominantly on special education litigation and pupil personnel matters. She currently works for the Maryland State Department of Education. Dr. Dalton received her Juris Doctorate in 2008 from the University of Baltimore, School of Law, and her Ph.D. in Education Policy in 2015 from the University of Massachusetts, Baltimore County.
